"... though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool." Isaiah is describing the result of purification of sin, but how is it accomplished? Isaiah 1:18

In prophecy, Daniel wrote about the end, that "many shall be purified, and made white". All those saved will have been purified. What is purification? and How do we get it?

And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end. Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand. Daniel 12:9-10

First, we must be wise and understand. That is the goal of this study.

When my daughter was small she HATED having her hair washed. We would tell her "we can do it the easy way or the hard way, but its going to be done." Purification is something like that. It is Yahweh's will that ALL be purified. Because He is all powerful (omnipotent) and all Loving, Yahweh will get His way. He won't be disappointed. His plan will succeed. His will WILL be done. (see The Ultimate Will of Yahweh and Predestination - The Myth of Freewill)

Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see Yahweh. Matthew 5:8

And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure. 1 John 3:3

There is a generation that are pure in their own eyes, and yet is not washed from their filthiness. Proverbs 30:12 (we can't depend on our own assessment)

There are two different classes of impurities, physical and spiritual. Physical impurity requires physical purification while spiritual impurity requires spiritual purification.

PHYSICAL PURIFICATION

Physical impurity is what happens when children play in the mud. It also is the state of our dishes after eating on them and our own bodies after too long without a bath or shower.

Physical impurity is more commonly referred to as "dirty". Dirty dishes, dirty car, dirty floors.

"Dirty" is the presumed condition of a doctor's hands and all his instruments before "scrubbing" for surgery. The instruments go into an autoclave to purify, the doctor's hands do not. They are scrupulously washed in soap and water, then protected by gloves. This demonstrates different applications for different impurities.

We all know and recognize "dirty" (physical impurity) and its remedy. All cases of physical impurity require "physical purification". Spiritual purification will clean a heart, but not the face. Likewise, physical purification will clean a face but not the heart.

Yahweh instructed His people to purify their physical things with physical fire if the thing could stand the fire, otherwise, with water:

Every thing that may abide the fire, ye shall make it go through the fire, and it shall be clean: nevertheless it shall be purified with the water of separation: and all that abideth not the fire ye shall make go through the water. Numbers 31:23

But sin can cause physical impurity (in addition to spiritual impurity). We will explore this later.

SPIRITUAL PURIFICATION

Spiritual impurity is the condition of sin and an unrepentant heart. Spiritual purification is its only cure. There is only one name that can purify and save (see The NAME of Yahweh).

Spiritual purification is further divided into three classes, 1) Yahweh's true, 2) Satan's false, and 3) Figurative (sometimes true, sometimes false).

FIGURATIVE PURIFICATION

Frequently, Yahweh and His prophets and apostles refer to figurative purification applied to spiritual impurity. Figurative purification is fictional or illustrative. It does NOT result in actual spiritual purification. It can result in a better understanding or a fictional, temporary, partial purity. It is a type (a figure) of what will happen later "in fact". It can result in a commitment to WANT to be spiritually pure - to follow Yahweh. But it doesn't apply the final remedy. It is NOT Yahweh's true purification, even if He uses it to illustrate or look forward to the actual.

For example, physical water (of baptism) is used to point figuratively to spiritual purification of His people. It can result in repentance or it can be an outward sign of repentance, but it cannot spiritually purify or save. It cannot remove or cleanse sin. This is why it is "less mighty".

I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire: Matthew 3:11

SATAN'S (FALSE) PURIFICATION

Satan closely watches and mimics (counterfeits) everything Yahweh does, so it shouldn't be surprising that he has (false) purifications. We will look at some of these in a future chapter, not so much as a study of paganism, but to be aware of the false. You will be surprised to learn how common and how frequent the false is seen everyday, everywhere.

YAHWEH'S (TRUE) PURIFICATION

There is only one true spiritual purification, but several agents are employed to encourage the desire and request the cure. These agents are also referred to as purifications. In truth, they lead to the desire for purification (as agents) but are not the actual process.

These agents are fire, water and blood, but none of these agents are physical - they are spiritual.

We will study each of these agents in their appropriate chapters (pages).

We will also discover the One True Purification of Yahweh.

Those who avail(ed) themselves of Yahweh's spiritual purification in this world will be those who make up the barley harvest and go to Heaven at the 2nd coming.

Those not included in the barley harvest will be harvested either at the wheat harvest or finally at the grape harvest and will be drawn to Yahweh in the spiritual lake of fire, a spiritual agent leading to their purification.
