Corruption of the family started with substitution of man's government in place of the family. Man's government is represented by beasts and metals in prophecy. They are a proxy for Satan, meaning they are Satan's governments on Earth.

This corruption started with Nimrod and the tower of Babel (Genesis 10:8-10). This was early "Babylon". Nimrod gathered together many families into the "nation" of Babylon at the tower of Babel. This nation building and their action was so opposed to God's plan that he interrupted them by confounding the languages (Genesis 11:9). This resulted in a dispersing of the peoples which slowed the clock of descent and corruption but didn't stop it.

Then around the time of the French Revolution and continuing with Immanuel Kant, Charles Darwin, Karl Marx, Hegel, Fourier and others until now, Satan has corrupted God's plan, one step at a time.
