And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. Revelation 20:13,14
Here's a question for you. What "SEA" gave up the dead? This is not the "lake". This is the "sea" from which the beast arose. It represents water (people) but more than that, the "sea" is the type of perpetual unrest. Hence our Lord rebukes it as an unruly hostile troubler of His people. It symbolized the political tumults out of which "the beast" arose, Revelation 13:1, Isaiah 50:2 Jamieson Fausset Brown Bible Commentary
But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. Revelation 21:8
Now, the unrighteous (literal wicked people, see Grape Harvest) have also been cast into the lake of fire.
After this...
For without [outside the gates of the New Jerusalem] are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie. Revelation 22:15
Are these the same unrighteous who were previously cast into the Lake of fire? Here they are, outside the gates of the Holy City? Not burning in a lake? These unrighteous cannot enter the city, but here they are, outside the gates.
And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: Revelation 22:27
In spite of their being outside the gates, there is no more sea (Revelation 21:1). No more peoples causing political unrest. Is it possible that they are bound as Satan was bound? Not literally, but refused access to foment trouble. Is this their lake?
And all the while, they are burning from within their "midst" because of the fire of Yahweh's words in judgment, until finally, every knee will bow and every tongue will confess.
I have sworn by myself, the word is gone out of my mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, That unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear. Isaiah 45:23
