It is interesting, but not surprising, that the two groups responsible for Yahushua's (Jesus') crucifixion are also responsible for the two major counterfeit calendars. We will examine them in greater detail. They are the calendars that you are likely to defend.

The calendar in general use and acceptance today is the one you see on the wall when you want to check today's date. It is the Gregorian calendar, implemented by the Roman Catholic Pope Gregory XIII, on October 4, 1582. Today, its' use is worldwide - almost universal.
Some will say "See, look at this calendar, it proves that Saturday is the seventh day of the week - 1-2-3-4-5-6-7." However, looking closer, many countries have the same calendar showing that "Sunday" is the seventh day of the week. Neither calendar proves anything, and both are actually the same calendar, arranged differently.
The Gregorian calendar uses a perpetually repeating weekly cycle. With this system, the arrangement on paper is immaterial, the results are the same. There is no seventh day at all. Seventh day of what? There is no starting point. There is no week. The so-called "week" doesn't exist. It is fictional and arbitrary. No single week can survive on its own. It ONLY exists in relationship to what passed before (and in your mind).
In Yahweh's calendar, a week is six work days and one Sabbath after each new month, repeating for four weeks. Then starting over with a new month. The Gregorian calendar does NOT start a new week with a new month. Weeks can span monthly borders. Also, with the Roman calendar, the moon rules over nothing, it plays NO part in the Roman calendar, so it is counterfeit on its face, according to Yahweh's instruction in Genesis 1.
More pointedly, Protestants have long taught (although they are becoming silent on the issue) that the papacy is the "Beast power" and "Little Horn" of Daniel and Revelation. Why would a servant of Yahweh choose to follow
anything created by Rome and defend it as true, especially knowing these scriptures?
"And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and

"Why, seeing TIMES are not hidden from the Almighty, do they that know him not see his
DAYS?
Some REMOVE THE LANDMARKS;" Job 24:1-2
"OK", you may say, "I'll admit that the Roman calendar is a pagan counterfeit, but surely the Jewish calendar points to the correct Sabbath."
Modern Jewish Calendar
To look to the Jewish nation for advice over anything is as dangerous as looking to Rome. It was Rome and the Jews who crucified our Saviour and it is the same pair responsible for both of these counterfeit calendars. Yahweh's word and His prophets have repeatedly warned that the Jews would forget and abandon and desecrate His Sabbaths. How can we safely ask them "When is the true Sabbath?" (see Lamentations 1-2, Nehemiah 13, Amos 8, Hosea 2, Ezekiel 20-23).
"Oh", but you say "they know their history and are still using their same calendar." Are you willing to risk your relationship with Yahweh, based on this (provably false) assumption?
It is true that the modern Jewish calendar shows "Saturday" to be the seventh day. It is also true that this was NOT always so. (although most modern Jews do not know this history).
The ancient Jewish calendar and the Jewish calendar in use at the time of the Christ did not contain any day called "Saturday". This was a Roman invention many years after the Christ in honor of the false, pagan god Saturn.
It is also true that the ancient Jewish calendar and the Jewish calendar in use at the time of Yahushua (Jesus, the Christ) did NOT have a perpetually repeating weekly cycle. Both calendars started a new month with a day called the "new moon" (Strong's "2320 chodesh kho'-desh from 2318; the new moon; by implication, a month:--month(-ly), new moon. see HEBREW for 02318").
Chodesh started not only a new month, but also a new week. Six work days after the new moon day was over, came the Seventh day - The Sabbath (this was the 8th day of the new month, but the seventh day of the week because the new moon (day) was not part of any week.) Six work days and the Seventh day - Sabbath then repeated three more times until another new moon, when the monthly cycle repeated.
In Yahweh's calendar, a week exists on its own. It is six work days and a seventh day Sabbath, starting every month. The perpetually repeating weekly cycle does NOT have a starting time, only a continuation. No one can point to any period in time and say THIS IS THE START OF A NEW WEEK (although some falsely claim that the creation week was the start). Nor is there a period of time that can be said to be the start of a new month. The false Roman "week" and "month" simply run together. Without the previous, there could be no future.
Yahweh's month DOES have a starting time. It is called new moon day (Chodesh in Hebrew). This same boundary (landmark) also provides definition for the week. Study this for yourself. It is in the Bible in plain sight. Please explain the Biblical "chodesh" (new moon day) otherwise.
If this is true, Yahushua (Jesus) didn't keep a Saturday Sabbath and He didn't observe a (Roman) perpetually repeating cycle of Sabbaths.
We know He didn't keep a "Sunday" Sabbath either, because we know that "change" was (admittedly) made by Rome (the papacy) long after His death.
If you can show me that any of this is false, I'd be happy to examine your proof. But don't simply depend on habit, tradition or the people who killed Yahweh's Son.
