Thou sawest till that a stone was cut out without hands, which smote the image upon his feet that were of iron and clay, and brake them to pieces. Daniel 2:34

Forasmuch as thou sawest that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it brake in pieces the iron, the brass, the clay, the silver, and the gold; the great God hath made known to the king what shall come to pass hereafter: and the dream is certain, and the interpretation thereof sure. Daniel 2:45

Notice in this verse how the clay is in the middle (the heart) of all the broken things, after the iron and brass and before the silver and gold. But, if clay represents God's people who have come out of Babylon, why are they also destroyed (broken)? Isn't this proof that the clay can't be His people, but must be the non-united kingdoms? ALL are broken to pieces.

This is a great clue to Yahweh's salvation. He saves by breaking. He WANTS us broken.

Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Psalms 34:18

The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise. Psalms 51:17

Thou [the Messiah, begotten Son] shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel. Psalms 2:9

He will break it as a potter's vessel is broken, breaking it in pieces without sparing, so that there won't be found among the broken piece a piece good enough to take fire from the hearth, or to dip up water out of the cistern. For thus said the Lord Yahweh, the Holy One of Israel, "You will be saved in returning and rest." Isaiah 30:14-15

It is only by breaking the pot that He can remake it, NEW.

The word which came to Jeremiah from Yahweh, saying, Arise, and go down to the potter’s house, and there I will cause you to hear my words. Then I went down to the potter’s house, and behold, he was making a work on the wheels. When the vessel that he made of the clay was marred in the hand of the potter, he made it again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it. Then the word of Yahweh came to me, saying, House of Israel, can’t I do with you as this potter? says Yahweh. Behold, as the clay in the potter’s hand, so are you in my hand, house of Israel. Jeremiah 18:1-6

But now, Yahweh, you are our Father; we are the clay, and you our potter; and we all are the work of your hand. Isaiah 64:8

All are marred by sin and all will be broken and remade.
