War in Heaven

Satan led a rebellion against Yahweh. He wanted a throne (be a ruler) above the stars of Yahweh.

How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of Yahweh: Isaiah 14.12

And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our Yahweh, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our Yahweh day and night. Revelation 12:7

We have the first clues to the nature of Satan's rule.

He lies
He accuses
He destroys
He enslaves
He oppresses


Thou shalt not be joined with them in burial, because thou hast destroyed thy land, and slain thy people: the seed of evildoers shall never be renowned. Isaiah 14:20

Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke? Isaiah 58:6

For thou hast broken the yoke of his burden, and the staff of his shoulder, the rod of his oppressor, as in the day of Midian. Isaiah 9:4

There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love. 1 John 4:18

But in his estate shall he honour the Yahweh of forces [Satan]: and a Yahweh whom his fathers knew not shall he honour with gold, and silver, and with precious stones, and pleasant things. Daniel 11:38

And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force. Matthew 11:12

Satan's Kingdom, Like the Kingdom of Yahweh is spiritual, not physical.

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Ephesians 6:12

Unfortunately, Satan isn't satisfied with only a spiritual government. This is because Satan is weaker than Yahweh and cannot win any spiritual contest or battle against Yahweh. So, he has had to resort to proxy physical governments where he can win. Almost all the governments of this world have been proxy governments of Satan. There were a very small number of governments that were physical proxies for Yahweh. (such as good king Hezekiah)

Yahweh's plan was to demonstrate His rule through the Nation of Israel. This largely failed because His own rulers were quickly corrupted by Satan and the temptations of wealth and power. Even Kings David and Solomon frequently passed over to the dark side.
