If Satan can't usurp the family or take control of it, then he will try to destroy it.

Betty Friedan, founder of NOW, referred to traditional family life as a "comfortable concentration camp" from which women needed liberation. Sheila Cronan, one of the feminist movements most respected leaders and spokeswomen said, "Since marriage constitutes slavery for women, it is clear that the women's movement must concentrate on attacking marriage."

Marriage has come under attack. Society is claiming that it's unneeded and even harmful. For almost 6000 years the traditional family has been a father a mother and children, frequently as part of an extended family of grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. In the middle 1900s the family became more "nuclear" and less "extended".

Now, anything goes. The most common family is a single mother (maybe living with a boyfriend) and her children. Next would be families with one or both parents having been divorced and creating a new "family". Then, there are families with two fathers and no mother or with two mothers and no father. And, a small number of traditional families still exist.

The family was greatly destroyed in Russia during its experiment toward centralization.

Keep your family ties strong. Keep your family united with Yahweh. Don't allow intrusion by society or the state.
