There is one more important aspect of judgment that deserves study.

Most Christians understand judgment to be the outcome of a trial, especially a criminal trial or a lawsuit, with sentencing. Nobody wants to go to court and stand trial for anything.

This is a correct analogy for judgment as a result of the harvest. It is the process of separating the wise from the foolish virgins, the barley (wise virgins) from the tares (foolish virgins), the wheat from the chaff and pressing the grapes to separate the juice from the skin and seeds.

But this understanding is only partially correct.

Biblical judgment frequently means JUSTICE. It is the righting of wrongs, making things just. Justice is relief from oppression, theft, violence, hatred and crime.

Justice is a good thing and Yahweh's people cry out for judgment (justice).

"For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of Yahweh, to do justice and judgment; that Yahweh may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him." Genesis 18:19

"Which executeth judgment for the oppressed: which giveth food to the hungry. Yahweh looseth the prisoners:" Psalms 146:7

"Then shalt thou understand righteousness, and judgment, and equity; yea, every good path." Proverbs 2:9

"Much food is in the tillage of the poor: but there is that is destroyed for want of judgment." Proverbs 13:23

"To do justice and judgment is more acceptable to Yahweh than sacrifice." Proverbs 21:3

"It is joy to the just to do judgment: but destruction shall be to the workers of iniquity." Proverbs 21:15

"Evil men understand not judgment: but they that seek Yahweh understand all things." Proverbs 28:5

"Whoso keepeth the commandment shall feel no evil thing: and a wise man's heart discerneth both time and judgment." Ecclesiastes 8:5

"Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow." Isaiah 1:17

"And judgment is turned away backward, and justice standeth afar off: for truth is fallen in the street, and equity cannot enter." Isaiah 59:14

"Hate the evil, and love the good, and establish judgment in the gate: it may be that Yahweh the Elohim of hosts will be gracious unto the remnant of Joseph." Amos 5:15

Come quickly Yahu Yahweh. Bring your judgment, peace and rest.
