Sloppy speech leads to sloppy Bible understanding. To communicate accurately we must learn to speak and read precisely.

If I say green dog and you are thinking red car, we will have trouble communicating.

This is what happens when the Bible uses words like "Lord", "LORD" and "God". Most people think they are synonymous. They are not. Most people think that these are names for the Almighty. They are not.

The Bible has the additional difficulty of being written in languages we don't understand. The Old Testament was written (mostly) in Hebrew. The New Testament was written (or translated to) Greek. Each of these languages have specific words that we may need to understand before we accept the translators' English "equivalent". The Bible may have been (was, 2 Timothy 3:16) written under inspiration, but there is no such claim for the translators. They used all of their preconceived ideas, biases and prejudices to choose which words to use.

We also need to understand some parts of speech... nouns (common nouns and proper nouns), articles, and titles.
