Hell - Why?

By far the most important question about "hell" is "WHY?"

The Bible is replete with texts about "punishment" and this is a purpose most people understand.

For, behold, יהוה [Yahweh, our god] cometh out of his place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity: the earth also shall disclose her blood, and shall no more cover her slain. Isaiah 26:21

Hell is the recompense (reward) of the wicked.

For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith יהוה. And again, יהוה shall judge his people. Hebrews 10:30

Be not deceived; Elohim is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. Galatians 6:7

"Justifications for punishment include retribution, deterrence, rehabilitation, and incapacitation. The last could include such measures as isolation, in order to prevent the wrongdoer's having contact with potential victims, or the removal of a hand in order to make theft more difficult." McAnany, Patrick D. (August 2010). "Justification for punishment".

The Destroyer, the god of force, punishes to coerce (FORCE) a specific action and for the pleasure of inflicting pain and torment. (Daniel 11:38, Hebrews 2:14-15).

Yahweh and the saved on the other hand, don't need to see vengeance and retribution done because they, having a perfect nature, follow these sayings:

"Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth (vengeance and retribution): But I say unto you ... whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also." Matthew 5:38-39

"Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;" Matthew 5:44

Either these are a false teachings or vengeance and retribution have no part in Yahweh's punishment.

Why would Yahweh resurrect the wicked just so he could kill them again? Being dead, they are already incapacitated and deterrence of the dead is moot. Satan would gladly raise them from the dead (if he were able) just to see them squirm in torment some more. But not our loving Father. If vengeance, retribution, deterrence and incapacitation are not the purpose...

Yaheweh, our Father, the God of love, has a different purpose. The ONLY non-force purpose applied in love is REHABILITATION or RESTORATION. (for an in depth study of this conclusion, watch for completion of the study "Punishment").

The only purpose (the WHY) of hell, by a loving Father is restoration / rehabilitation - seeking and restoring that which had been lost.
