What is the SINGLE, most important verse in the Bible? The one that sums up the total? How could it be other than some quotation of our Master, Yahushua? Following are some worthy candidates:
John 3:16
For Yahweh so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Mark 12:29,30
And Yahushua answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; יהוה [Yahweh] is our Elohim [god], יהוה is one: And thou shalt love יהוה thy Elohim with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.
Both verses are excellent choices and true teachings of Jesus (Yahushua). Both verses are ALSO part of the Kingdom of Yahweh. John 3:16 was part of Jesus' conversation with Nicodemus, who came to Him secretly at night. Jesus' initial reply to Nicodemus was:
John 3:3
Yahushua answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of Yahweh.
This shows that even John 3:16 is about the Gospel of the Kingdom.
The conversation of Mark 12 was with the scribe who asked which commandment was the greatest. After the conversation was finished, Jesus replied:
Mark 12:34
And when Jesus saw that he answered discreetly, he said unto him, Thou art not far from the kingdom of Yahweh.
Showing that this conversation was also about the Kingdom.
The "sermon on the mount" contains the most complete description of the Gospel of Jesus. Yahushua (Jesus) mentioned His kingdom nine times in these few verses (salvation is not mentioned at all).
In this sermon, He also taught us how to pray (The Lord's Prayer) in which He instructed His disciples to pray that "thy kingdom come". Now that it has come, we would want to pray instead "Thank you for sending your kingdom and may it grow to encompass all".
He then concludes with two options. Either one hears and does the sayings of this sermon, in which they are like the wise man who built upon the rock, or they don't, and they are like a foolish man who built upon the sand.
These are the ONLY options - One or the other.
In the center of this sermon, is the following verse:
Matt.6.33
But seek ye first the kingdom of Yahweh, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Jesus' direct command to "seek ye first" makes this the number one priority of ALL. The direct "seek ye first" makes this the single most important Bible verse of all. This should be our number one priority. Everything else (including also salvation), simply follows.
This command is directly about the Kingdom of Yahweh.
