Lost Sabbaths (a work in progress)
Before continuing, I want to point out that you and I are NOT saved by keeping the sabbaths.
We are saved by faith (alone) See SALVATION BY FAITH. But God's people will know Him and keep His (correct) Sabbaths.
I have included the weekly sabbaths within this topic of "Lost Sabbaths" because the 7th day has been lost.
All God's sabbaths have been lost. They will be restored. All lost knowledge will be restored. God will restore everything He created.
The (Weekly) Sabbath
God the Father, His Son, Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the angelic host, Adam, Enoch, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moses, ancient Israelites (including also Jews) and hopefully you, keep/kept the 7th day Sabbath.
Our ONLY safety is in following the example of the Son of God.
We know he kept the Sabbath and expected us to also, see:

When or What is the 7th day?
By definition, it CANNOT be Friday, Saturday AND Sunday. Either two or ALL are incorrect.
You are probably thinking, right now, I was raised in the XXXX church, or I converted to XXXX and I KNOW that xxxxxday is the one, true, correct sabbath.
But, are you able, right now, with your current knowledge, to PROVE it?
Nowhere does the Bible say to worship on Friday or Saturday or Sunday.
ALWAYS it says the seventh day or the sabbath.
The bible says that the seventh day is the sabbath. That means they are equal to each other, They are synonyms.
seventh day = sabbath and the words can be used interchangeably.
Neither word is synonymous with Friday or Saturday or Sunday.
The 7th day is the 7th day of the week, but when does the week start?
Some calendars have Sunday as the 7th day, some have Saturday as the 7th day. Both can NOT be correct.
Maybe NEITHER are correct.
If you are looking on a Gregorian calendar for the 7th day, you will not find it.
When does a week start and has it always been so?
Unless you know the absolute correct answer to this question, you have no basis for your faith of sabbath worship.
Penalties for NOT keeping the Sabbath Exo.31.14-15

Rewards for Keeping Sabbath
If thou turn away thy foot from the Sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the Sabbath a delight, the holy of יהוה, honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words: Then shalt thou delight thyself in יהוה; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of יהוה hath spoken it. Isaiah 58:13-14
Then shall there enter into the gates of this city kings and princes sitting upon the throne of David, riding in chariots and on horses, they, and their princes, the men of Judah, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem: and this city shall remain forever. And they shall come from the cities of Judah, and from the places about Jerusalem, and from the land of Benjamin, and from the plain, and from the mountains, and from the south, bringing burnt offerings, and sacrifices, and meat offerings, and incense, and bringing sacrifices of praise, unto the house of יהוה. But if ye will not hearken unto me to hallow the Sabbath day, and not to bear a burden, even entering in at the gates of Jerusalem on the Sabbath day; then will I kindle a fire in the gates thereof, and it shall devour the palaces of Jerusalem, and it shall not be quenched. Jeremiah 17:25-27

Jesus kept the Sabbath
At that time Jesus went on the sabbath day through the corn; and his disciples were an hungred, and began to pluck the ears of corn, and to eat. Matt.12.1
But when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto him, Behold, thy disciples do that which is not lawful to do upon the sabbath day. Matt.12.2
But he said unto them, Have ye not read what David did, when he was an hungred, and they that were with him; Matt.12.3
How he entered into the house of God, and did eat the showbread, which was not lawful for him to eat, neither for them which were with him, but only for the priests? Matt.12.4
Or have ye not read in the law, how that on the sabbath days the priests in the temple profane the sabbath, and are blameless? Matt.12.5
But I say unto you, That in this place is one greater than the temple. Matt.12.6
But if ye had known what this meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice, ye would not have condemned the guiltless. Matt.12.7
For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day. Matt.12.8
Jesus Expected Future Sabbaths
But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day: Matt.24.20
Kept in Heaven
And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the LORD. Isa.66.23
New Moons Days
(this material regarding new moon days is repetitive to that found in the topic God's Calendar)
If you aren't ready yet to see God's calendar, at the very least, honestly consider the Biblical "new moon days".
Having been raised in a Saturday Sabbath church my first misgivings were upon studying about "new moon days" in the Bible.
My teaching did not include new moon days and I didn't know what to do with them or how to categorize them.
Was there no teaching because they had been "done away" with? I found no record of that.
Was the Bible in error in mentioning them? I found no evidence for that.
Were they an inconsequential ancient anomaly? No, further study indicated they were as important as the Sabbath.
If you, like me at the time, do not know, off the top of your head, the meaning and answer to the question of new moon days, I'm glad you have been led to this study and hope that you find it useful.
What are New Moon Days?
New moon days are the start of a new month. Some months have one new moon day, some have two. This isn't so strange to you. Some Februarys have 28 days, some have 29. Some months have 30 days, some 31.
A new moon day is NOT a weekly Sabbath. It is the day(s) following the weekly Sabbath. It is a sabbath (a rest day), but not THE Sabbath.
It is a worship day. It has been made that by God.
When are New Moon Days?
The previous month ends on a Sabbath (the 29th day of the month). The following day is always a new moon day.
Sometimes the new month starts the day after Sabbath. Sometimes it starts two days after. The moon phase is dark for either two days or three days. The first dark day is Sabbath, the 29th day of the month. The next dark day is a new moon day. If there is another dark moon, that month will have two new moon days. There are never three new moon days in a row.
Are New Moon Days Worship Days?
Yes.
Also in the day of your gladness, and in your solemn days, and in the BEGINNINGS OF YOUR MONTHS (new moon days), ye shall blow with the trumpets over your burnt offerings, and over the sacrifices of your peace offerings; that they may be to you for a memorial before your God: I am the LORD your God. Num.10.10
And she called unto her husband, and said, Send me, I pray thee, one of the young men, and one of the asses, that I may run to the man of God, and come again. And he said, Wherefore wilt thou go to him to day? it is neither new moon, nor sabbath. And she said, It shall be well. 2 Kings 4:22,23
(in other words, where will you find the man of God, he isn't worshiping today because it isn't a Sabbath and it isn't a new moon day)
And to offer all burnt sacrifices unto the LORD in the sabbaths, in the new moons, and on the set feasts, by number, according to the order commanded unto them, continually before the LORD: 1Chr.23.31
We will discover many texts where Sabbath and new moon days are mentioned together, sometimes with feast days.
Behold, I build an house to the name of the LORD my God, to dedicate it to him, and to burn before him sweet incense, and for the continual showbread, and for the burnt offerings morning and evening, on the sabbaths, and on the new moons, and on the solemn feasts of the LORD our God. This is an ordinance for ever to Israel. 2Chr.2.4
Then Solomon offered burnt offerings unto יהוה on the altar of יהוה, which he had built before the porch, Even after a certain rate every day, offering according to the commandment of Moses, on the Sabbaths, and on the new moons, and on the solemn feasts, three times in the year, even in the feast of unleavened bread, and in the feast of weeks, and in the feast of tabernacles. 2 Chronicles 8:12-13
And afterward offered the continual burnt offering, both of the new moons, and of all the set feasts of the LORD that were consecrated, and of every one that willingly offered a freewill offering unto the LORD. Ezra.3.5
(here it says these days are "consecrated")
Blow up the trumpet in the new moon, in the time appointed, on our solemn feast day. For this was a statute for Israel, and a law of the Elohim of Jacob. Psalms 81:3-4
And it shall be the prince's part to give burnt offerings, and meat offerings, and drink offerings, in the feasts, and in the new moons, and in the sabbaths, in all solemnities of the house of Israel: he shall prepare the sin offering, and the meat offering, and the burnt offering, and the peace offerings, to make reconciliation for the house of Israel. Eze.45.17
Thus saith the Sovereign יהוה; The gate of the inner court that looketh toward the east shall be shut the six working days; but on the Sabbath it shall be opened, and in the day of the new moon it shall be opened. Likewise the people of the land shall worship at the door of this gate before יהוה in the Sabbaths and in the new moons. Ezekiel 46:1,3
Saying, When will the new moon be gone, that we may sell corn? and the Sabbath, that we may set forth wheat, making the ephah small, and the shekel great, and falsifying the balances by deceit? That we may buy the poor for silver, and the needy for a pair of shoes; yea, and sell the refuse of the wheat? Amos 8:5-6
(these are NOT all the Biblical new moon days, but just a sample)
Have New Moon Days Been Done Away With?
No, I have found no such record.
Were New Moon Days Nailed to the Cross?
No, we will keep them in heaven:
For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith יהוה, so shall your seed and your name remain. And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one Sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith יהוה. Isaiah 66:22-23
How / Why Did New Moon Disappear?
Short answer - the counterfeit Roman calendar is solar only, so there is no moon controlling anything. Therefore new moon days are useless, meaningless, and non-existent.
They were eliminated by Rome when Rome eliminated the moon from their counterfeit calendar, and replaced it with the spurious perpetually repeating week.
(see Calendars in History)
Annual Feasts
God's "Holy Days" (His feasts) have been replaced by counterfeit pagan "holidays".
"His people", the "elect" make excuses and rationalizations for ignoring and "doing away" with the assemblies and celebrations that He said should be kept forever.
At the same time, they readily celebrate the pagan holidays that have no meaning to God.
Christmas, Easter, counterfeit New Years Day, Thanksgiving, Halloween all have either pagan foundations or lack direction from God.
None have been inspired or given by God.
Yet, which are observed?
Day of Atonement
27 Also on the tenth day of this seventh month there shall be a day of atonement: it shall be an holy convocation unto you; and ye shall afflict your souls, and offer an offering made by fire unto the Lord. 28 And ye shall do no work in that same day: for it is a day of atonement, to make an atonement for you before the Lord your God. 29 For whatsoever soul it be that shall not be afflicted in that same day, he shall be cut off from among his people. 30 And whatsoever soul it be that doeth any work in that same day, the same soul will I destroy from among his people. 31 Ye shall do no manner of work: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations in all your dwellings. 32 It shall be unto you a sabbath of rest, and ye shall afflict your souls: in the ninth day of the month at even, from even unto even, shall ye celebrate your sabbath. Leviticus 23:27-32
Feast of Tabernacles
34 Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, The fifteenth day of this seventh month shall be the feast of tabernacles for seven days unto the Lord. 35 On the first day shall be an holy convocation: ye shall do no servile work therein. 36 Seven days ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the Lord: on the eighth day shall be an holy convocation unto you; and ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the Lord: it is a solemn assembly; and ye shall do no servile work therein. Leviticus 23:34-36
Feast of Trumpets
23 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, 24 Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, In the seventh month, in the first day of the month, shall ye have a sabbath, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, an holy convocation. 25 Ye shall do no servile work therein: but ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the Lord. Leviticus 23:23-25
Feast of Weeks
15 And ye shall count unto you from the morrow after the sabbath, from the day that ye brought the sheaf of the wave offering; seven sabbaths shall be complete: 16 Even unto the morrow after the seventh sabbath shall ye number fifty days; and ye shall offer a new meat offering unto the Lord. 17 Ye shall bring out of your habitations two wave loaves of two tenth deals: they shall be of fine flour; they shall be baken with leaven; they are the firstfruits unto the Lord. 18 And ye shall offer with the bread seven lambs without blemish of the first year, and one young bullock, and two rams: they shall be for a burnt offering unto the Lord, with their meat offering, and their drink offerings, even an offering made by fire, of sweet savour unto the Lord. 19 Then ye shall sacrifice one kid of the goats for a sin offering, and two lambs of the first year for a sacrifice of peace offerings. 20 And the priest shall wave them with the bread of the firstfruits for a wave offering before the Lord, with the two lambs: they shall be holy to the Lord for the priest. 21 And ye shall proclaim on the selfsame day, that it may be an holy convocation unto you: ye shall do no servile work therein: it shall be a statute for ever in all your dwellings throughout your generations. Leviticus 23:15-21
Feast of First Fruits
9 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, 10 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye be come into the land which I give unto you, and shall reap the harvest thereof, then ye shall bring a sheaf of the firstfruits of your harvest unto the priest: 11 And he shall wave the sheaf before the Lord, to be accepted for you: on the morrow after the sabbath the priest shall wave it. Leviticus 23:9-11
Passover / Unleavened Bread
23 For the Lord will pass through to smite the Egyptians; and when he seeth the blood upon the lintel, and on the two side posts, the Lord will pass over the door, and will not suffer the destroyer to come in unto your houses to smite you. 24 And ye shall observe this thing for an ordinance to thee and to thy sons for ever. 25 And it shall come to pass, when ye be come to the land which the Lord will give you, according as he hath promised, that ye shall keep this service. 26 And it shall come to pass, when your children shall say unto you, What mean ye by this service? 27 That ye shall say, It is the sacrifice of the Lord's passover, who passed over the houses of the children of Israel in Egypt, when he smote the Egyptians, and delivered our houses. And the people bowed the head and worshipped. Exodus 12:23-27
4 These are the feasts of the Lord, even holy convocations, which ye shall proclaim in their seasons. 5 In the fourteenth day of the first month at even is the Lord's passover. 6 And on the fifteenth day of the same month is the feast of unleavened bread unto the Lord: seven days ye must eat unleavened bread. 7 In the first day ye shall have an holy convocation: ye shall do no servile work therein. 8 But ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the Lord seven days: in the seventh day is an holy convocation: ye shall do no servile work therein. Leviticus 23:4-8
Sabbath of Land
4 But in the seventh year shall be a sabbath of rest unto the land, a sabbath for the Lord: thou shalt neither sow thy field, nor prune thy vineyard. 5 That which groweth of its own accord of thy harvest thou shalt not reap, neither gather the grapes of thy vine undressed: for it is a year of rest unto the land. 6 And the sabbath of the land shall be meat for you; for thee, and for thy servant, and for thy maid, and for thy hired servant, and for thy stranger that sojourneth with thee, 7 And for thy cattle, and for the beast that are in thy land, shall all the increase thereof be meat. Leviticus 25:4-7
Year of Jubilee
8 And thou shalt number seven sabbaths of years unto thee, seven times seven years; and the space of the seven sabbaths of years shall be unto thee forty and nine years. 9 Then shalt thou cause the trumpet of the jubile to sound on the tenth day of the seventh month, in the day of atonement shall ye make the trumpet sound throughout all your land. 10 And ye shall hallow the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout all the land unto all the inhabitants thereof: it shall be a jubile unto you; and ye shall return every man unto his possession, and ye shall return every man unto his family. 11 A jubile shall that fiftieth year be unto you: ye shall not sow, neither reap that which groweth of itself in it, nor gather the grapes in it of thy vine undressed. 12 For it is the jubile; it shall be holy unto you: ye shall eat the increase thereof out of the field. 13 In the year of this jubile ye shall return every man unto his possession. Leviticus 25:8-13
Conclusion - All of these Sabbaths were given by God for a reason.
Some were memorials, whose significance is still valid.
Some were pointing forward to Christ's sacrifice, which, being now past, we no longer anticipate. However, how much more valid would it be to now celebrate as a memorial what He already did?
Some were simply celebrations and a time for family.
We celebrate the founding of XXXX (whatever country you want to insert here). How insignificant is that compared to the importance of our celebration of Christ's ultimate sacrifice?
We no longer sacrifice lambs and goats and sheep and doves because Christ has made that sacrifice for us. These sacrifices were intimately a part of all God's sabbaths (feasts) including the 7th day sabbath. People still observe The sabbath, even without sacrifices. Likewise, they could still observe the new moon days and feast days without sacrifices.
But, is that any reason to ignore celebrating as a memorial what He has accomplished? Especially when he tells us to celebrate them forever?
